Megan Wobus Beller

Megan Wobus Beller is a fiddler and fiddle teacher in Baltimore, MD who plays and teaches New England, French Canadian, Irish, Old-Time, and Klezmer styles of traditional music. Meg began performing professionally on the fiddle at age 12. She has a degree in Violin Performance and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music, studying in the studio of Lynn Blakeslee. Meg grew up immersed in the Suzuki Method and¬†learned Suzuki pedagogy from Anastasia Jempelis and Alice Kanack, as well as Alice’s method for teaching improvisation, Creative Ability Development. Meg taught violin and fiddle at the Kanack School of Music and the Eastman Community Music School in Rochester. She served as Musical Director of the Kanack School Fiddle Camp and has led workshops in fiddle and improv at events and schools including the Peabody Preparatory. Meg is the founder of Fiddle Studio, the author of three Fiddle Studio books, and the creator of albums, courses, and the Fiddle Studio Podcast for learning to fiddle. Her other interests include hiking, reading, and writing.
