Our Teachers

Slide She is wonderfully kind and wise. This is my third teacher development course I've taken with her, and I always come away with fresh ideas, and I find I'm able to fit together more of the pieces in my own Suzuki vision. If I had the chance to take a fourth course with her at some point in the future, I would. Slide She is wonderfully kind and wise. He is a great group teacher with so many special cues for the little ones. His playing and expression was absolutely inspiring. All of the pieces we rehearsed with him still bring great memories and the wonderful dynamics he taught. Slide He was incredible. Within two minutes of having my child in front of him, it was as if he had been teaching her for ages. Slide We loved her. We still talk about all we learned through our lessons and also the ones we watched. She taught so much about bow technique and vibrato. Slide He is amazing with the students–keeping their confidence up even while correcting their bad habits. Slide He inspires the kids and I feel the kids respect him. He is tough—yet fun, so it works. The kids really respond to his teaching style.

Our Courses

Slide (Enrichment Course) I enjoyed being challenged to think more deeply about students who "act up" after Ed's class. My understanding of the parent's role in a child's emotional maturity grew my empathy for both child and parent. Slide (Orchestra) I also liked seeing orchestra. Having participated in Suzuki institutes 30+ years ago, I remember feeling inadequately prepared for the music reading skills of orchestra and was encouraged to see this is part of the curriculum. Slide (Repertory Classes) Fantastic class — loved the integration of Suzuki songs with other styles of music. Very energetic. Slide (Play-ins) Play-in was AMAZING for my child. As I parent, I went to lectures and did not see a full play-in, so I can't say exactly what it was that was so amazing, but I know that to my child, play-in was HUGE. I do not exaggerate when I say, play-in may be the reason my child is playing and loving violin today. Slide (Master Classes) The individual attention was wonderful. My son loved his class… and still talks about it today. Slide (Music Mind Games) My child loved music mind games. [The teacher] was engaging and fun and could keep the children's attention. The kids learned a ton! Slide (Quartet) When I asked [my child] mid-week what her favorite class was, she responded with "quartet". It was her first class of the day and it was a great start for her each morning. The music was challenging and she enjoyed [the] teaching style. Slide (Teacher Development Course) I loved revisiting the [Suzuki] material with another teacher trainer, and discovering how [she] uses the Suzuki method so effectively. I appreciated how she not only explained what she did with her students, but also detailed the reasoning behind her approach. It was excellent teacher training from a masterful and experienced trainer. Slide (Fiddling) Fiddling exposed the children to things they hadn't really done yet. Well organized and good content.
