The 2018 GWSI will be held at Bishop O’Connell High School, 6600 Little Falls Rd, Arlington, VA 22213.
From Downtown Washington, D.C.
Take Rt. 66 West* to Exit 69 (Sycamore Street/Falls Church). Bear right off the exit onto Sycamore Street. Go through two stop lights and take the next left onto 26th Street. Take an immediate right onto Trinidad Street. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the left.
From Northwest Washington, D.C.
Take Arizona Avenue to Canal Road and take a right onto Canal Road. Go across Chain Bridge into Virginia and follow Glebe Road to Lee Highway. Turn right onto Lee Highway and follow to the fifth traffic light at Sycamore Street. Turn right onto Sycamore Street and go one block. Turn left onto 26th Street and then an immediate right onto Trinidad Street. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the left.
From I-495 in Virginia
Take Rt. 66 East* to Exit 69 (Lee Highway/Washington Blvd.). Go to traffic light at end of ramp and turn left onto Lee Highway. Go two blocks and turn left onto Underwood Street. Continue on Underwood for about three blocks. Bishop O’Connell High School is located on the right.
*Please be aware that eastbound I-66 inside the Capital Beltway is restricted to HOV-2 vehicles between the hours of 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM. Westbound I-66 is restricted to HOV-2 vehicles between 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
We will be using Entrance 1 to enter the school, Cello classes will be on the first floor accessible only via Entrance 1 which provides access to classes without having to climb stairwells. Everyone else should park near Entrance 1 when possible.
General check-in Sunday, June 24 and Monday June 25, 2018 will be in the Cafeteria, located to your right as you enter the building through Entrance 1. Participants taking the Every Child Can© and Violin Book 1 courses, which start before general check-in, should check-in at their assigned classrooms.

Bishop O’Connell does not offer cafeteria services. Participants must make their own arrangements for lunch. They may bring a bag lunch or purchase food from food trucks parked outside the venue in the parking lot by Entrance 1 between the hours of 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. There is also a rich diversity of eating establishments within close driving distance of Bishop O’Connell High School, many of which provide take-out and delivery services. Coffee may also be purchased from the Suzuki Office.
The cafeteria serves as a lunch room. You may enjoy the lunch you purchase or bring with you in this room. Please note food and beverages other than water are not allowed in the classrooms or Auditorium.
